Meet Miyoko

Today is Day 3 of Sister Stamps' First Birthday Blog Hop and you've probably arrived here by way of Nadine's blog. If not, you'll want to start at Sister Stamps so you won't miss a single blog.

I'd like to introduce you to Miyoko, a cutie who's carrying a little celebratory cupcake. I've made a little tag with Miyoko. You can attach her to a gift or adhere it to a card base for a quick last minute card.

I colored her with Copics and added some Stickles to the cupcake. A chevron pattern was stamped with white ink on the bottom of the tag to "ground" Miyoko and a bit of matching hand dyed seam binding was tied on top.

Making the Miyoko tag was quick and fun, so I made a matching one with Mariko, who was featured earlier this week. I love that the new images are so easy to trim. It made fussy cutting a breeze--even for someone as scissors challenged as me.

All the images from this release will go on sale July 1st. Check the sidebar on the Sister Stamps blog for a retail source near you.

I have one more project to share with you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you're enjoying the hop! Now hop over to Kris' blog to see what she's created.

Birthday boy

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Sister Stamps' Birthday Blog Hop! If you arrived here from Nadine's blog, you're on the right track. If not, start at Sister Stamps so you won't miss seeing all of the inspiring cards and projects.

Today I'm featuring Takeo, a cute little guy with a bunch of balloons.

I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with Reverse Wonky Rectangles--one of my favorite die shapes. The background piece was die cut with the next larger size and stamped with Penny Black's Allover Pattern. I adhered the two pieces together and added some ribbon loops as an accent.

Since there was not enough room for a sentiment, one can be added on the inside of the card.

Now hop on over to Kris' fabulous blog to see what she has in store for us and please come back tomorrow for Day 3. Happy hopping!

Happy First Birthday, Sister Stamps!

Hello, and welcome to Day One of Sister Stamps' First Birthday Blog hop! I hope you arrived here from Nadine's blog. If not, start at Sister Stamps and continue the hop to see the latest release of three adorable new images with a birthday theme.

Here's my project using Mariko. She was colored with Copics and trimmed out. I used Penny Black's Allover Pattern cling stamp and clear embossed it on white cardstock, then ink distressed it with Victorian Velvet. Just a portion of the stamp was trimmed to fit the top of an origami Masu box. (Thanks to my blogging friend Elizabeth for sharing this!)

You can find online tutorials on how to fold both the box and the divider, which happens to hold four Ferrero Rocher candies perfectly. (Edited to note: I used a set of written instructions and the YouTube video is the closest to what I did.)

Now hop on over to Kris' blog to see what she created with the new release. Make sure that you visit all the blogs because there are giveaways of the new stamps, along with lots of ideas and inspiration.

Day 2 starts tomorrow at Sister Stamps. Hope to see you then!

Catered Crop--Rainbows

On Monday I found out that my banner card was one of the cards chosen over at Catered Crop! I was not the random winner of Torico's digis, but we get to participate in Sunday's upcoming Quick Fire along with the rest of the design team.

The theme for the recipe swap is RAINBOWS, and here is my card.

White cardstock was inked with several colors of Distress inks and overstamped with a floral background stamp for texture. I used Papertrey Ink's butterfly die and cut them out.

There's a faint screen mesh background that was stamped in Antique Linen distress ink, and I adhered the butterflies and added the Paper Smooches sentiment. Each of the butterflies was finished off with matching colored pearls.

Visit Catered Crop to enter the rainbow themed recipe swap. You could win a $15 gift certificate to use at Sassy Cheryl's Digis!
